As tributes pour in for Jordan Wright, who has been found dead in Thailand at the age of 33, the Mirror takes a look at some of the questions surrounding his mysterious demise

Haunting CCTV footage shows the final moments of Jordan Wright.

The death of Jordan Wright has sent shockwaves among his former The Only Way Is Essex castmates, leaving many questions unanswered.

Police said the circumstances leading up to Jordan's death are "unclear" and admitted that it is possible "other people were involved". Now officers are investigating whether the reality star could have been sprinting away from another person.

On March 14, Jordan was discovered dead in a drainage ditch on the beautiful island of Phuket, having made the move to Thailand mere weeks beforehand. He was only 33 years old and should have been looking ahead to an exciting new chapter in life. A familiar face on shows such as TOWIE and MTV's Ex On The Beach, Jordan started off his career as a firefighter for the London Fire Brigade, before moving into financial investment. Outside of work, he had a great passion for DJ-ing and an adventurous spirit, with social media footage showing him riding motorbikes and trying out martial arts in his final weeks.

While Jordan, originally from Basildon, Essex, wore many hats throughout his short life, it appeared that he'd found a true sense of contentment as he settled into life in Thailand. His final Instagram post, dated March 6, showed the reality star basking in an infinity pool against a dreamy backdrop, looking absolutely in his element. In a caption that now reads as bittersweet, he wrote: "I'm home".

Tragically, just a few days later, Jordan was dead, under circumstances that felt a world away from the blissful life he'd been apparently enjoying towards the end.

Today, Lieutenant Colonel Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station told the Daily Mail: "The circumstances leading up to the death are quite unclear. It is possible that other people were involved."

Lonely hotel room

After news of Jordan's death broke, tributes poured in from those who'd known and socialised with the TV star, remembering his "infectious energy" and all the laughs. It may therefore come as a surprise that the sociable, fun-loving Jordan checked into the luxury Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao alone shortly before his death. After Jordan's body was discovered, his treasured white Kawasaki motorcycle was found, still parked at the hotel.

Lieutenant Colonel Thongchai Matitham stated: “Hotel records showed that he had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13, but staff reported that he never checked out.” While staff attempted to reach him, they weren't able to do so. Police officers, who have not confirmed a check-in date, also clarified that there were "no signs of forced entry or other irregularities" in the plush hotel room, adding to the mystery enveloping Jordan's final hours.

A source at the hotel told the Mail Online that Jordan had been staying alone at the hotel and hadn't had any guests over. They recalled: "He would go out at night like other guests. There was nothing unusual until we could not find him when he was due to check out."

CCTV mystery

Strange CCTV footage captured Jordan behaving erratically outside Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao, pacing back and forth repeatedly before suddenly running through the grounds of the hotel, glancing over his shoulder as though somebody was following him. At one point, Jordan can be seen stumbling at a corner, steadying himself by grabbing onto a white pickup truck, before carrying on.

Lieutenant Colonel Matitham shared: "CCTV footage showed that he appeared restless and was moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area. His movements eventually led to the location where his body was later discovered." While these clips have helped police piece together a clearer timeline, it's still not understood why exactly Jordan was seemingly in such a state of panic. Now, officers are looking into whether the former TOWIE star was being chased, and have today stated that they will be once again reviewing CCTV footage to figure out Jordan's movements earlier that evening.

Canal questions

On the afternoon of Saturday, March 14, Jordan was found face down in stagnant water by a worker from Myanmar, who had been harvesting vegetables when he made the devastating discovery. Jordan was still clad in a grey shirt and black trousers, but was barefoot. There were no visible signs of assault or struggle, according to police, who were able to recover some of his belongings as they pieced the puzzle together.

A hotel key card was still in Jordan's pocket, linking him to the Hotel COCO, just a 20-minute walk away. For reasons unknown, his brand new iPhone 17 had been left mere metres away on the bank. It's believed the television personality's body may have lain in the canal for up to two days before discovery, but an exact time has not been given.

Autopsy wait

Jordan's body has since been taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for an autopsy, where authorities are awaiting results, including toxicology tests, so as to determine whether other factors contributed to his death. According to Lieutenant Colonel Matitham: "We are still waiting for the autopsy results from Vachira Phuket Hospital to determine whether drugs were present in his system. The case remains under investigation while we wait for the official autopsy results.

"CCTV footage related to the incident is part of the case file and cannot be released at this stage. We cannot confirm the exact cause of death until the autopsy results are released. If relatives or friends have concerns about the cause of death, they can contact the police station."
