ensex Today, Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates: Find here all the live updates related to Sensex, Nifty, BSE, NSE, share prices and Indian stock markets for 13th October 2026.
The Sensex was trading at 72,954.19, up 1,029.51 pts or 1.43 per cent, while the Nifty 50 stood at 22,692.00, up 328.65 points or 1.47 per cent, as of 2:50 pm on October 13, 2026.

Brickwork’s Rajeev Sharan: Rupee’s rebound is RBI-driven, not due to fresh inflows; true test will come once support measures are eased
Indian Rupee by Rajeev Sharan, Head of Research, Brickwork Ratings.
“The rupee extended its rebound for a second day on Tuesday, trading in the mid-95s, after Monday’s near-1% jump, its biggest single-day gain in over six months. The driver is not fresh inflows but the RBI rerouting dollars going out. Its new window now supplies state oil companies their full daily needs, about USD 300 million, directly, taking the market’s biggest and least price-sensitive buyer off the spot screen. It has also sharply cut currency derivative limits to squeeze speculators. The point is that this is administered strength: the oil import demand for dollars has been parked, not removed. The real test is whether the rupee can hold once this support is eased.”

Ventura’s NS Ramaswamy: Gold stays volatile on rate, yield, and dollar pressures; prices likely elevated pre-Diwali
NS Ramaswamy, Head of Commodity, Ventura.
“Gold continues to remain volatile and the recovery is partially on account of lower expectations for rate hikes following the weaker payrolls data. Markets have assigned roughly a 20% chance of an October hike, down from around 70% during the 1st week of October 2026. October FOMC could remain in wait-and-watch mode, while markets continue to price a possible 25-bps hike in December 2026, with another potential hike in H1 2027.
Gold remains under pressure from elevated oil prices, yields, and a resilient dollar
•\u0009Rising bond yields continue to weigh on gold prices. U.S. Treasury yields remain elevated near multi-decade highs.
•\u0009Escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran could push oil prices higher, increasing inflation concerns and reinforcing expectations for higher short-term interest rates, which could put further pressure on gold prices. Unless oil prices begin to fall meaningfully, the near-term macro environment is therefore likely to remain challenging for gold.
Fundamentally, investment demand and central-bank purchases remain supportive considerations. The World Gold Council (WGC) identifies real yields, monetary-policy expectations, and the dollar as important influences on Western gold ETF flows. Stronger yields or a firmer dollar could pressure rebounds; improving investment flows could reinforce recovery.
Pre-Diwali, Gold prices are expected to trade high range between ₹1,50,000 / ₹1,65,000 per 10 grams, followed by a modest price easing or consolidation post-Diwali as peak festival demand cools down (After Bhai Dooj Nov 10th / 11th ). Gold could trade higher depending on the currency movement. Dhanteras is on 6th Nov & Diwali on 8th Nov. Jewelers and retail buyers stock up ahead of Dhanteras. COMEX could be well within range of around $4,150–$4,650 per ounce. A weaker rupee against the US dollar and India’s 15% eAective gold import duty continue to keep domestic benchmarks elevated compared to international spots.”

PL Capital’s Vikram Kasat: Sensex and Nifty rebound 1.2% led by IT stocks; investors focus on earnings visibility as crude prices and inflation may limit policy room
Vikram Kasat - Chief Business Officer – Advisory and Dealing at PL Capital
“Indian equities witnessed a strong recovery today, with the Sensex and Nifty rising around 1.2%, led by a sharp rally in IT stocks following optimism around HCL Technologies’ earnings. The nearly 4.7% surge in the Nifty IT index suggests that investors are selectively positioning themselves around earnings visibility rather than buying across the market. The decline of around 8% in India VIX indicates easing near-term uncertainty, although weakness in small-caps highlights that risk appetite remains uneven. Elevated crude oil prices and September retail inflation of 5.54% could constrain policy flexibility and corporate margins. Going forward, sustained earnings growth and broader sectoral participation will be crucial to extending the rally; investors should favour fundamentally strong companies and avoid aggressive bets at elevated valuations.”

Gold swings as it tracks oil and US rates more than war news
Gold has swung both ways in recent sessions. It rose above $4,200 an ounce as oil fell on hopes of Russian diesel supply, then eased as the dollar neared an 18-month high and markets priced in another possible Fed rate hike.
Tracking this pullback, MCX gold in India slipped below ₹1,50,000 per 10 grams. What stands out is that gold is tracking oil and US interest rates more than war news, which is why global prices are only about 1% higher than a year ago despite the conflict in West Asia.
With Indian prices about 15% below their January record of around ₹1,75,000, any further dip could draw festive buying. Wednesday’s US inflation data will set the near-term direction.

Polycab India excluded from F&O trading after insolvency order
Polycab India shares fell around 5% after the NSE announced its exclusion from the Futures & Options (F&O) segment starting December 30, 2026. Existing contracts for October, November, and December will continue trading until expiry, but no new contracts will be issued afterward, and all positions must be closed by the final maturity. The move stems from the stock being shortlisted under the IBC framework following an NCLT order admitting insolvency proceedings over a small operational debt of ₹2.79 crore (later stayed by NCLAT), which automatically disqualifies it from derivatives trading. Stocks exit F&O for failing liquidity, position-limit, or governance criteria and face a 12-month ban before possible re-inclusion only after meeting all requirements for six consecutive months. Analysts note this could trigger further selling pressure as traders unwind positions amid higher 100% margins.

Daniel Munday, Principal Analyst, VT Markets on Weekly ETF Inflows Signal Long-Term Confidence in Gold Despite Near-Term Pressure
Gold is being driven by rate expectations more than fear. Iran tensions would normally support it, but they are lifting oil and yields instead, which raises the opportunity cost of holding gold. That is why it is still siting around $4,200, well below January’s record.
Markets have trimmed October hike bets after a softer NFP, but December is still priced as likely, so US CPI tomorrow and the October 28 FOMC are the next tests.
A sustained run of weekly ETF inflows tells me investors are using the dip to build positions and hedge uncertainty, rather than chase price. That is a sign of confidence in the longer term story. It can continue while rate expectations stabilise. A hotter inflation print and more hike pricing could slow it quickly.

Quote by Rajni Thakur, Chief Economist, L&T Finance on CPI data
“Headline CPI inflation in September at 5.5% is largely driven by 7% plus inflation in food and beverages categories and 9% plus inflation in restaurants services. While inflation in September is partly higher due to the base effects of last year’s lower price levels, clearly food inflation is driving a surge in headline and also concomitant increase in services inflation. Food inflation is well above 7% in both rural and urban areas and will add more pressure on RBI to speed up its tightening cycle.”

Kotak Securities Research
HCL Technologies (Reco: Reduce, FV: Rs. 1220) - Margins surprise, products disappoint, valuations full
HCLT reported a mixed quarter with a products-led revenue miss and sharp improvement in IT and Business Services (ITBS) EBIT margin to a 20-quarter high. The company narrowed its FY2027 revenue guidance range while leaving the midpoint broadly unchanged, implying confidence in execution but little change in underlying demand conditions. HCLT continues to gain wallet share through mega deals, captive carve-outs and AI-led transformation programs. We incorporate recent acquisitions and stronger profitability, resulting in a 0.1-1% increase in FY2028-29E EPS. The stock trades at a full valuation of 16X FY2028E EPS. We maintain REDUCE.
ICICI Pru AMC (Reco: Reduce, FV: Rs. 3200) - Healthy operating performance
IPRU AMC reported better-than-expected 2QFY27 result, with 16% yoy revenue and similar operating profit growth. Headline PAT performance was weaker due to lower other income, driven by MTM impact on its equity and debt portfolios. Revenue yields improved across MFs and alternates due to a mix effect, with higher-fee PMS and AIF businesses contributing ~10% of net revenue. Monthly SIP inflows declined for the second consecutive quarter due to industry trends toward SMID along with STP redemptions. A key concern for all AMCs will be recovering from recent MTM losses (closing equity AUM for IPRU is ~5% lower than average). While IPRU remains well positioned to deliver steady earnings growth, supported by its strong franchise and expanding alternatives platform, rich valuations continue to constrain upside potential. Retain REDUCE.
Tata Consumer Products (Reco: Add, FV: Rs. 1080) - Growth portfolio scaling well, valuation now reasonable
We upgrade TCPL to ADD from REDUCE following a 25% correction in the stock price over the past 4-5 months. The company’s Growth portfolio is scaling well (up 47% yoy in 1Q), driven by strong momentum in Sampann, NourishCo and Organic India, and some pickup in Capital Foods. TCPL is also relatively well placed in the current inflationary environment. We estimate 10.5%/14%/18% revenue/EBITDA/EPS CAGR over FY2026-29E and value the stock at Rs1,080, based on 41X Sep-28E adjusted PE (Rs1,165 earlier at 44X).
UPL (Reco: Add, FV: Rs. 570) - Superform has the right ingredients for growth
Our visit to UPL’s manufacturing facilities in Jhagadia and Dahej helped us better appreciate the company’s growth plans in specialty chemicals and the strength of its backward integration. Management expects to sustain a 20%+ revenue CAGR for Superform while improving margins. We switch to an SoTP to better reflect this growth opportunity and upgrade our rating to ADD with a revised FV of Rs570, although looming holdco discounts are a key overhang.
Consumer Staples (Sector View: Cautious) - Recalibrating multiples
Structural headwinds are likely to continue weighing on FMCG growth, making portfolio transformation increasingly critical for sustaining or accelerating medium-term growth. FMCG companies are reshaping and expanding their portfolios at varying speeds, with Marico and TCPL leading the way. We have revised our estimates to factor in inflationary pressures arising from the ongoing war and El Niño conditions and have moderated valuation multiples across the sector to reflect portfolio-related constraints and a higher cost of equity. Following the recent correction in its share price, we upgrade Tata Consumer Products (TCPL) to ADD from REDUCE, with a revised FV of Rs1,080 (41X Sep-28E adjusted PE) versus Rs1,165 earlier (44X Sep-28E adjusted PE).
Pharmaceuticals (Sector View: Attractive) - IPM pulse: Growth stays firm
IPM maintained strong momentum, posting 17.1% yoy growth in Sep 2026 (on a base of 6.6% yoy; the base becomes less favorable from hereon). Excluding GLP-1, IPM sales grew ~16.5% yoy in Sep 2026. IPM delivered 13.2% yoy growth in MAT Sep 2026, supported by sustained volume momentum. Notably, after four years of muted volume growth, volumes surpassed price growth in MAT Sep 2026. Within our coverage, we bake in 10-18% yoy (ex-TRP) domestic sales growth for FY2027E. TRP, CIPLA, MANKIND, SUNP and LPC are our preferred picks in the space.
Economy - CPI inflation inching closer to 6%
September CPI inflation at 5.5% yoy (August: 4.8% yoy) inched closer to the RBI’s upper limit of inflation target band, in line with expectations, with inflation pressure being broad-based. Core inflation at 4.3% reflected precious metals inflation and higher input prices feeding into the CPI basket. We maintain our FY2027-28E headline CPI inflation forecast at 5.2% and 4.8%, respectively, and core inflation at 4.3% for FY2027E. We continue to pencil in a 25 bps rate hike each in December and February, given that inflation prints are likely to be above 6% in December-January with risks of negative real rates.

Food inflation is well above 7% in both rural and urban areas and will add more pressure on RBI to speed up its tightening cycle.”

Purvang Mashru, Lead Analyst, BitDelta India, on cryptocurrencies
Bitcoin fell 2% to about $81,995 and Ethereum lost 3.4% to $2,451, while BNB, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, Avalanche, TRX and Chainlink all declined. The equal-weight fall across top ten cryptos by market cap was 4.4%.
The pressure was strongest outside Bitcoin. Cardano dropped 7.7%, Avalanche fell 7.4% and Solana lost 6.2%. Chainlink declined 5.5% and Dogecoin fell 4.8%. TRX was the most resilient with a 0.4% loss, but there was no positive return among the top ten cryptos by market cap.
Closing weakness makes the move more significant than the headline percentages alone. Every named major crypto finished in the bottom third of its daily range. Bitcoin rebounded from $80,960, but ended at only 31% of its range, while Ethereum finished at 26%.
International markets added pressure to the backdrop. The Nasdaq fell 0.4%, the US semiconductor index lost 2.7%, and oil rose nearly $2 after attacks on Saudi airports. The Financial Stability Board also called for stronger cross-border monitoring of global stablecoins before the 15 October G20 meeting.
Bitcoin support is near $80,960 and $80,000, with resistance around $82,500 and $84,262. A move above $82,500, with Ethereum reclaiming $2,500 and fewer near-low closes, would improve the setup. A break below $80,960 would increase pressure. US inflation data on 14 October is the next macro catalyst.

Market commentary by Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO, Pi42
“Bitcoin’s latest correction reflects the collision of geopolitical uncertainty, rising oil prices and an upcoming US inflation report. BTC briefly approached $81,000 before recovering, while Ethereum fell toward $2,400 and XRP and Dogecoin also declined. The scale of liquidations is notable, with more than $775 million in crypto positions wiped out in 24 hours, largely affecting leveraged long positions.
What matters now is whether this flush-out creates a healthier base for recovery. Bitcoin’s open interest fell 1.64%, indicating some positions have been unwound, while derivatives traders on Binance increased their long exposure. On-chain data cited by analysts identifies $84,569 as a key supply zone, where nearly 800,000 BTC previously changed hands. Reclaiming this level would strengthen the case for a sustained rebound, rather than a short-lived bounce.
For investors, Wednesday’s US CPI release is the next major catalyst. A softer reading could ease macro pressure, but persistently high oil prices may keep inflation concerns elevated. Traders should watch Bitcoin’s ability to reclaim $84,500 and manage leverage carefully, as volatility can intensify around key data releases.”

BTC slipped below $83K as rising U.S. Treasury yields, a stronger dollar and uncertainty ahead of the U.S. midterm elections influenced market sentiment. BTC continues to consolidate below the $86K–$87K resistance zone, with near-term direction largely dependent on broader macroeconomic conditions. Institutional accumulation remained steady despite market volatility, with Strategy purchasing 250 BTC and Bitmine adding 12,532 ETH, reflecting continued long-term interest in digital assets. Market attention now shifts to Wednesday’s U.S. inflation report, with headline inflation expected at 3.7% and core inflation at 2.5%. A softer-than-expected reading could ease pressure on bond yields and support renewed momentum across crypto markets said CoinSwitch Markets Desk

Market quote from Mudrex
Bitcoin is trading near $82,000 after finding support at $81,000, following a rapid liquidation of $120 million in long positions within 15 minutes. Escalating tensions involving Ukraine and Iran have intensified risk aversion, pushing Brent crude to $107 and the dollar index to its highest since April 2025. Market sentiment has cooled, with the Fear and Greed Index falling to 56 from around 80 in early October. Yet, Strategy added another 250 BTC, while Bitcoin posted its first bullish 13/34-week moving average crossover in 3.5 years indicating potential upside. US CPI on Wednesday and Fed Chair Warsh’s Friday remarks are key catalysts. Support remains at $81,000 to, with resistance at $84,000 said Prateek Gupta, Head of Business, Mudrex

Gold eases on firm dollar; spotlight on US inflation data
- October 13, 2026 08:17
Market view by Nischal Shetty, Founder, WazirX
“Inflation in India rose to 5.54%, while China’s exports surged 64% despite weaker domestic sales. US Treasury yields near 5.24% and Brent above $106 kept borrowing costs and inflation concerns elevated, potentially limiting crypto liquidity. Tighter RBI expectations may restrain Indian participation, while US inflation data could reduce Federal Reserve tightening pressure. Overall, firm export demand supports confidence, but high yields and energy costs keep Bitcoin and altcoin participation selective.
Bitcoin trades near $82,249, consolidating below key short-term averages while RSI remains neutral. Support sits at $81,800- $82,000, followed by $80,200- $81,100; resistance lies at $82,800- $83,100. Holding support preserves recovery potential.
For BTC Futures traders, rising open interest alongside stronger volume and balanced funding would provide better confirmation of a sustained breakout.
Ethereum trades near $2,455 after short-term moving averages weakened, while its longer-term structure remains supported. The $2,440- $2,450 region provides immediate support, with $2,350 below. Reclaiming the psychological $2,500 level could improve participation, although $2,535- $2,565 remains the key resistance area. Holding support would preserve stability. Until then, price action may remain range-bound.
Asian equities weakened sharply, led by the KOSPI’s 5.95% and Nikkei’s 2.56% declines, while Singapore gained 0.42%. US markets’ sentiment was mixed: the Dow rose 0.38%, but the Nasdaq fell 0.44% and the VIX increased 2.49%. Gold slipped 0.25%, while oil declined 1.11%, easing some inflation pressure. Although weaker equities may limit speculative participation, lower energy costs and limited defensive buying could support selective capital rotation into Bitcoin and broader crypto markets
during the current session.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $21.13 million in daily net inflows, led by BlackRock’s IBIT, while Ethereum ETFs posted $56.10 million in outflows, extending their withdrawal streak to nine sessions. Bitcoin nevertheless gained 0.60% to around $82,249, while Ether rose 0.45% to nearly $2,455 despite fund withdrawals. The divergence shows ETF flows do not determine prices alone. Spot demand, short-covering, derivatives positioning, exchange supply, profit-taking and macro conditions can absorb institutional activity and delay an equivalent price response across markets.”
- October 13, 2026 08:10
Market review by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
Bitcoin is trading around $82,000, extending its decline amid weaker institutional demand and rising macroeconomic uncertainty. The 81,800–82,000 zone is immediate support, followed by $80,000. Resistance lies around 83,300–84,200. A sustained move above this range would help stabilise sentiment.
ETF flows remain a concern. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $102.7 million of inflows on October 1 and $189.9 million on October 2. Outflows followed on October 5 and October 7–8, including withdrawals of $484.9 million and $244.1 million on the latter two dates. October 9 saw only $21.1 million of inflows. This points to fragile institutional demand.
On-chain indicators are mixed. The latest available readings show Bitcoin’s MVRV at 1.6068, NUPL at 0.3776 and SOPR at 1.0089. These suggest that aggregate unrealised profits remain positive and coins moved on-chain are still realising small gains. Nearly 63% of supply had remained unmoved for at least a year in recent data. However, these indicators are dated and do not rule out further selling.
Large-cap altcoins are under pressure. Ethereum is around ₹2,33,376, down 4.84% over 24 hours. BNB is near ₹70,024, down 4.00%. XRP is around ₹128, down 5.94%. Solana is near ₹10,097, down 6.17%. TRON is around ₹31.50, down 1.38%. These readings show broader weakness, with Solana and XRP among the sharper decliners.
Macro conditions remain challenging. The dollar index is near 102.56 and Brent crude around $106 a barrel. Markets see limited odds of an October Fed rate hike, but expectations of a December increase have risen. US CPI on October 14 is the next major catalyst.
Our advice: Investors should avoid chasing rebounds. Watch Bitcoin’s $82,000 support, ETF flows and US inflation data before increasing exposure.
