The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has retained control of the Kerala University Union with a sweeping victory in the union elections by winning 35 out of the total 37 general seats.

SFI candidate Shiva S. from Kollam has been elected as the new union chairperson.

The Kerala Students Union (KSU) managed to win only two seats in the election. Out of the three vice chairperson positions, the SFI won two and KSU one. A total of 180 university union councillors, elected from various colleges under the university, participated in the voting process.
