A batch of 64 State Forest Service Officer trainees from the Central Academy for State Forest Service visited Auroville recently as part of their ongoing training programme.

The visit was conducted under the aegis of Jayanti S. Ravi, Secretary of the Auroville Foundation and Additional Chief Secretary of Gujarat.

The team led by Viji Natarajan, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Coimbatore, was guided by the Auroville Foundation staff through the township’s notable environmental and cultural landmarks.

According to a press note, a major highlight of the visit was a tour of the Araynya Forest, where the trainees learned extensively about the Auroville Green Service. The team members also gained on-the-ground insights into Auroville’s renowned ecological and afforestation initiatives.

The delegation also toured key township landmarks, including the Matrimandir, gaining exposure to the philosophical vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The officers concluded their visit with the Solar Kitchen.
