The Tamil Nadu government has reconstituted the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA), appointing retired IAS officer K Phanindra Reddy as its Chairman and four others as members for a period of five years or 65 years of age, whichever is earlier, according to a Government Order issued on October 21, 2026.
Besides Reddy, the reconstituted authority will comprise Reeta Harish Thakkar, retired IAS officer; Mythili K Rajendran, retired IAS officer; S Kirubaharan Mathuram, retired District Judge; and KP Sathyamurthy, retired Engineer-in-Chief, as members.
The Housing and Urban Development Department issued the order following the recommendations of a selection committee constituted to identify candidates for the posts.
The appointments follow the supersession of the existing authority by the Governor of Tamil Nadu for six months, or until the reconstitution of the authority, whichever is earlier, under an earlier Government Order.
The newly formed TVK government appointed Reddy as chairperson of TNRERA, Ahmed and Thakkar as members for a period of six months or until the State government reconstituted the authority, which has been done now.
