Election authorities in Telangana are organising special campaigns for filing of claims and objections as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The campaigns, each of two days duration, will be organised in two spells at all the polling stations in the State, a statement from the Chief Electoral Officer informed.
The first special campaign is being scheduled on September 5 and 6, and the second one on September 12 and 13. Citizens who need to register as a voter or apply for vote shifting or for deletion can visit the designated locations at polling station level to verify draft roll or deposit their claims and objections, through Forms 6, 7 and 8.
Booth-level officers will be available at the polling stations on the said days, and go through the draft roll with the Booth Level Agents to identify the corrections etc., if any and act as per the Election Commission of India guidelines.
The duration for filing claims and objections as part of SIR is till September 16. During this time, the normal practice of lodging claims and objections in the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) would continue simultaneously, the note informed.
