Restrap is releasing two new race-focused pieces of gear today. For those looking for extra capacity when weight and aerodynamics are critical, their new hydration vest and top tube bag may prove useful. Let’s dive into the specifics of each to see what benefits they might provide.
Restrap Lightweight Race Hydration Vest
Their new Lightweight Race Hydration Vest is based on the design of their Race Hydration Vest, but it reduces the overall capacity for a leaner, more aerodynamic fit. The new vest features a lightweight mesh construction with four stretch pockets on the front and an underarm stretch pocket on each side. The rear of the pack features a hydration bladder sleeve, and every purchase comes with a compatible bladder. Hose routing can be run over either shoulder and uses a magnetic clip to stay within reach when not in use. There’s also a stretch rear pocket for an emergency layer, with a reflective patch to increase visibility.
The Lightweight Race Hydration Vest comes in two sizes: S/M and L/XL. It weighs 215 grams without the bladder, has a capacity of 4L, and costs $237. Restrap has made an instructional video walking through all the features of this new vest. Watch it below:

Restrap Aero Race Top Tube Bag
The Restrap Aero Race Top Tube Bag is 0.6L and takes inspiration from the brand’s larger bikepacking-oriented top tube bags. Designed to hold gels and ride snacks, the Aero Race Top Tube Bag tucks just behind the stem, carrying a small load out of the wind. The bag itself features a completely redesigned stiffener, which Restrap says removes the need for headtube retention. An internal foam base deadens rattles for a quieter ride, and the bag also has an external stretch net pocket for extra capacity.
The bag can be attached to any bike using the included straps or bolted to the top tube on bikes with the appropriate mounts. The Aero Race Top Tube Bag weighs 110 grams, including the straps, and costs $92. As always, there’s a how-to video that walks users through all the features. Check it out below:
