Scoring an ODI century away from home is among the toughest challenges in international cricket. Visiting batters not only have to adapt to unfamiliar conditions but also overcome quality bowling attacks and hostile crowds. Producing one or two hundreds overseas is impressive, but maintaining that level of consistency across multiple tours requires exceptional skill, temperament and longevity.

India captain Rohit Sharma recently added another remarkable achievement to his glittering ODI career by becoming the player with the most ODI centuries in a visiting country. During the third ODI against England at Lord’s, Rohit registered his eighth ODI hundred in England, surpassing several legendary names to claim the top spot on this elite list.

Although India eventually lost the match by 27 runs and conceded the series 2-1, Rohit’s magnificent 138 was one of the biggest positives for the visitors. The innings also made him the first Indian batter to score an ODI century at Lord’s and the oldest Indian to score an international century in England.

1) Rohit Sharma – 8 ODI hundreds in England

Rohit occupies the top spot after scoring his eighth ODI century in England. Across 30 ODI innings in the country, the Indian skipper has averaged an outstanding 64.12 while consistently delivering match-winning performances. His latest century at Lord’s helped him move past several all-time greats and underlined his reputation as one of the finest ODI batters of the modern era. Rohit’s ability to dominate in challenging overseas conditions has been one of the defining features of his illustrious career.

2) Sachin Tendulkar – 7 ODI hundreds in UAE

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar shares the second spot with seven ODI centuries in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Featuring in 42 innings in the country, Tendulkar averaged 48.05 while producing several memorable knocks. During the 1990s and early 2000s, the UAE hosted numerous multi-nation tournaments where the Master Blaster repeatedly showcased his class against some of the world’s strongest bowling attacks.

3) Saeed Anwar – 7 ODI hundreds in UAE

Former Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar also scored seven ODI centuries in the UAE. One of the most elegant left-handed batters of his generation, Anwar accumulated those hundreds in 51 innings while averaging 45.39. His fluent strokeplay and ability to play long innings made him one of Pakistan’s most dependable ODI performers, particularly in familiar conditions across the Gulf region.

4) AB de Villiers – 7 ODI hundreds in India

South African great AB de Villiers registered seven ODI centuries in India despite playing only 20 innings in the country. Averaging a staggering 70.31, the Proteas superstar mastered Indian conditions with his remarkable versatility and innovative strokeplay. His consistency against India’s quality bowling attacks further cemented his legacy as one of the greatest white-ball batters in cricket history.

5) Quinton de Kock – 7 ODI hundreds in India

Another South African left-hander, Quinton de Kock, rounds off the list with seven ODI hundreds in India. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter achieved the feat in just 21 innings while averaging 51.66. De Kock has enjoyed tremendous success on Indian pitches, combining fearless strokeplay with excellent shot selection to consistently provide his team with explosive starts at the top of the order.
