Gone debuts on ITV this evening, revolving around a private school headmaster and a no non-sense family liaison officer.
Replacing Sunday night's primetime slot previously occupied by royal true crime drama The Lady, Gone is a thriller focusing on a missing woman whose husband swiftly emerges as the primary suspect.
However, the intricate case proves far more complicated than first appears, with the husband – a school headmaster – seemingly more preoccupied with the conduct of the school's star rugby player.

Michael Polly - David Morrissey

Central to the investigation is private school headmaster Michael Polly, whose wife Sarah has vanished.
He becomes the chief suspect in her disappearance, with his stern, inflexible manner doing little to help his cause, prompting him to re-examine how he's conducted his life until now.
The character is portrayed by actor David Morrissey, whose impressive television credentials include playing The Governor in The Walking Dead, DCS Ian St Clair in Sherwood and ACC George Oldfield in The Long Shadow, amongst numerous others.
DS Annie Cassidy - Eve Myles
Another instantly recognisable television face is Welsh actress Eve Myles.
Her credits include portraying solicitor Faith Howells in Keeping Faith, Ceri Lewis in the Welsh drama Belonging, and Gwen Cooper in Doctor Who.
Myles portrays DS Annie Cassidy, appointed as the family liaison officer following Sarah's disappearance, yet develops an unexpectedly intimate connection with prime suspect Michael Polly.
Beyond the active investigation, Annie must also determine whether to reignite her romance with DI Craig Stanhope (Peter McDonald).
Alana Polly - Emma Appleton
Alana is Michael and Sarah's daughter and a teacher at the private school where Michael is headmaster.
She finds herself torn when evidence emerges concerning her mother's disappearance, leaving her uncertain about whom to believe.
Actress Emma Appleton previously portrayed Fay Brookstone in the BBC 3 thriller Clique before securing her debut leading role in the 2019 espionage thriller Traitors as Feef Symonds.
She additionally took on the part of Sid Vicious' girlfriend Nancy Spungen in the Disney+ mini-series Pistols, chronicling the legendary punk outfit the Sex Pistols.
DI Ivan Pemberley - Arthur Hughes
Actor Arthur Hughes is perhaps most recognised for his portrayal of Ryan McDaniel in the supernatural Netflix drama The Innocents.
He has additionally provided the voice for Ruairi Donovan in the BBC Radio 4 series The Archers and appeared in programmes including Shardlake and The Jetty.
Hughes takes on the role of DI Ivan Pemberley in Gone, who leads the inquiry into Sarah Polly's disappearance, becoming exasperated when DS Annie Cassidy attempts to intervene independently.
DI Craig Stanhope - Peter McDonald
Peter McDonald has built an impressive career with memorable performances, including Jonathan Devlin in Dublin Murders, Baldwin Montclair in A Discovery of Witches and William Kenzie in both The Batman and The Penguin films.
In this production, McDonald portrays DI Craig Stanhope, who's attempting to salvage his marriage with Annie whilst later lending his expertise to a cold case investigation.
Carol Bradley - Clare Higgins
Carol Bradley is the mother of a woman who vanished eight years previously, a cold case that continues to weigh heavily on Annie, with the two having formed a close bond over time.
Clare Higgins has featured in numerous productions recently, including The Worst Witch as Miss Cackle, Dangerous Liaisons as Madame Jericho and The Sandman as Mad Hettie.
Dylan Sedgwick - Billy Barratt
Dylan Sedgwick is the standout rugby player at Michael Polly's private school, though he battles with his studies and feels disconnected from his parents.
But what prompts Michael's increasing worry about the teenager when his wife, Sarah, disappears?
Billy Barratt made his screen debut as Ralph Selfridge in the ITV drama Mr Selfridge in 2016.
His credits also include Responsible Child, Apple TV's Invasion, and the 2025 horror film Bring Her Back.
