World Cup final kick-off time

Spain and Argentina will go head-to-head in tonight's World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm UK time (5pm local time).

Argentina claimed a 2-1 win over England in their semi-final while Spain defeated France to reach the World Cup's showpiece fixture.

Lionel Scaloni gives Spain verdict

Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni believes Spain have 'no weaknesses' ahead of their meeting in the World Cup final.

Scalon told reporters:

We’re preparing for this match like any other. We’re desperate to come out on top. We’re putting a lot of focus into analysing Spain so that we get an idea of what they might do.I see no weakness in them – they’re a top team. But regardless of the fact it’s a final, it’s another football match where we need to be at our best to try and win.We aren't dwelling on the fact it's a World Cup final, because that could distract us. Ultimately, we're gearing up for it as best we can, just like any other match, then we'll see what happens.

Yamal's dad won't attend Spain vs Argentina final

Lamine Yamal's father will not attend the World Cup final in person - as he hasn't been able to end any match all tournament, reports Ryan Taylor.

Mounir Nasraoui has revealed he did not feel fit to travel this summer due to his health. It means Nasraoui is set to cheer on the 19-year-old Barcelona superstar from home.

Rodri message

Manchester City star Rodri has outlined what Spain need to do to beat Argentina to win the World Cup final tonight.

Rodri said, via ESPN:

We can even do it better.I think against France, we do one of the best games we ever done as a team.But against Argentina, I think we have to rise a level because they are the champions. And I'm really confident that we can do it.
