Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilierve criticized Prime Minister Mark Carney Tuesday, questioning where the results of his efforts have been since taking office last year. “We're happy that the Prime Minister is holding an investment summit but where are the results? We've had, we've had now 18 months of speeches, summits and symbolic signing ceremonies, and what have Canadians got? More expensive food, gas and housing,” Poilievre said at a Vancouver press conference. The opposition leader was referring to Canada’s first-ever Investment Summit, which is aimed at attracting new investment to Canada and has some of the world's biggest investors in attendance. Attending the final day of the event in Toronto Tuesday, Carney announced that his government will “seek private investment through long-term concessions to operate Canada’s four largest airports.” Asked his thoughts on privatized airports, Poilievre said he needs to hear the details first, but noted that he wants to ensure” it doesn't end up being sweetheart deals for corporate power brokers and Liberal insiders at the expense of hard-working Canadians who are already struggling to put food on their table.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/12058012/carney-investment-summit/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://www.tiktok.com/@globalnews.ca?lang=en #GlobalNews #Cdnpoli #Conservatives #PierrePoilievre #carney #markcarney #canada
