After a high-speed pursuit for the so-called “LEGO Bandit,” Nassau County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputies have arrested and detained suspect Ronald Lorne Tipton. Tipton fled a Walmart with high-value LEGO sets in a getaway U-Haul van on Sept. 15, weaving through traffic to evade authorities. The chase came to a halt when the U-Haul was pinned into a tree. Tipton faces multiple charges, including coordinating others in retail theft over $3,000 and dealing in stolen property – in this case, small plastic bricks, typically marketed towards children.
