Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare K.G. Arunraj on Sunday said that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is committed to transparent and honest governance in Tamil Nadu

More than 5,000 cadres from various parties, including the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, joined Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the presence of TVK general secretary and Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand in Salem on the day.

At the function, Minister for Transport A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban said that cadres from other parties were joining TVK in huge numbers. The party leader will recognise sincere workers. Everyone should work hard and strengthen the Chief Minister. In the upcoming Parliamentary elections, the government pointed out by the Chief Minister should come to power at the Centre, Mr. Parthiban added

Claiming that people were happy to see a honest government in Tamil Nadu, Mr. Arunraj alleged that corruption had been prevalent everywhere in Tamil Nadu for the past 60 years. Both the Dravidian parties relied on money to secure votes. For the first time, Mr. Vijay broke this trend and people voted for TVK. In the recently held Assembly elections, TVK had a chance to win the Edappadi Assembly Constituency. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami purchased the TVK candidate and and is now claiming that he won by the highest vote margin.

The main reason for DMK's defeat was councillors who were allegedly involved in corruption, he alleged.

Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration D. Logesh Tamilselvan and TVK functionaries participated.
